Author's introductory ramblings

Welcome! This is a bit of a story about Chino. It's basically my log of playing the character Chino through "Jumpquests", but I really don't get the jumpquest thing... For now, it's a solo adventure for isekai'd Chino through the pokemon world.

This is also my first Jumpquest so I'm not really min-maxing in any way. Inspiration for the character came partly from myself (as I initially thought that the character was supposed to be a self insert); and mostly from whatever after realising that she's not necessarily just a self insert. Basically, though originally she was a self insert, you won't learn anything about me by looking at her character.

I was sort of surprised when I finished making the character for the first jump, and wasn't given any kind of actual game to play. Playing the character feels important to me. Therefore, I am also using this campaign as an exploration in solo RP.

Author's notes and updates

General thoughts

• 2024/02/20: Haven't uploaded the recent story updates yet as they are saved on my phone. And I've not figured out a great way to transfer stuff from there to here. I'm enjoying this whole process though, my art has gotten a lot better and it's fun to draw Chino and Cyndaquil.

• 2024/03/20: Happy spring equinox! Work has still been crazy so still not many updates. Apologies.

Solo RP systems

• 2024/02/05: I'm looking into using "Daydream Universal/Daydreamer v0.4" from Val Ryzhov on Reddit. Basically because I don't need to write things down and do maths and etc. It seems natural enough to me to be able to do it any time.

• 2024/02/07: Since I need more structure and am struggling with the open-endedness of Daydreamer I've been reading the more popularly suggested "Mythic GM Emulator v2".

• 2024/02/20: Reading the books for GURPS. Getting the feeling I'm spending more time reading all these possible rulebooks and systems than actually doing the story. Though, today I have also started writing Chino (pokemon world) backstory, which has given me a lot more inspiration for future story directions etc.
