WHY I SWITCHED TO PRUSASLICER

BACKGROUND PREFERENCE

I have a general aversion to installing new apps, and try to have as few onto my devices as possible. This is even more pronounced when the apps have not been developed well for the OS, leading to unintuitive keystroke shortcuts and other confusing behaviours.

USING CURA

Whilst Cura was easy to tinker with, I ended up collecting a large number of "profiles" which took into account different variable changes across different materials and print-specific needs.

USING CHITUBOX

For resin prints, I was using ChituBox. Though resin printing is a pain when you don't have an automated cleaning and curing machine, so barely used it.

USING PRUSASLICER

Whilst it's not a perfect slicer, no slicer is, I can now make FDM and SLA print files from a single app (with a script to convert the SLA file in the background) and also, switching material temperatures is simpler and less prone to mistakes.
