Do you think the Conservative party has made Britain worse during its 13 years in power?

The five Conservative governments have made Britain worse in their 13 years. There are the highlights:

The Conservatives economically partitioned the UK, with the Irish Sea border and Northern Ireland following applicable EU laws. As a result, there is a political crisis with no government in Northern Ireland.

Since 2008, the UK's has had dreadful wage growth. Average real pay still 2.7% down compared to 2008. Average households are worse going into the next election than at the 2019 election. The collective national tax burden is higher than when the Conservatives came to power in 2010.

During the Conservatives’ 13 tenure, UK passport holders have lost their existing freedom of movement. Business have new barriers and costs to existing trade and services.

Public services are now in a parlous state. NHS waiting lists are up, local council bankruptcies are up and the police are dealing with domestic concerns - normally the preserve of (now depleted) social services. Train cancellations and delays are worse.

There is a reduction is public standards. One Conservative prime minister’s government was held in contempt by parliament. Another prime minister told everyone to follow rules they had to intention following themselves, and then lied about it. A succession of Conservatives governments together have tried to unlawfully shutdown parliament, unlawfully block parliamentary votes and attempt to break international laws.

All of this is converting into polling. The Conservative average in the first 8 polls of 2024 is 24.5%. In the first 8 polls of 2023, it was 26%. In the first 8 polls of 2022, it was 32.5%. In the May 1997 wipeout election, the Conservatives had a 30.7% vote share.
