last year was a hard year, im thankful it is over. one thing that im excited about this year is digging in to a new job that i started in the last quarter of 2024.

im not a big "new years resolution" guy, but i have been thinking a bit about what i want to get out of this year. one thing that is relevant to this devlog is follow-through on projects. the last two years were challenging for a whole host of reasons, but the cycle of not having time to do fun side projects -> feeling bad about not doing fun side projects bit me pretty bad. things have been much better recently, and im feeling prepared to take on more. the main thing that comes to mind to make this work though is feeling organized and prepared. one nice side effect of being prepared is that i am more easily able to "meet myself where i am at" which sounds like a good idea, but needs some real-world validation.
