Recipe: Chicken with cream and mushrooms
I made this recipe for my fiancée's parents and uncle and it turned out amazing. The quantities looked way off to me but it was worth following it precisely.
Ingredients
For 4 people:
- 1 kg champignon mushrooms
- 1 whole chicken breast
- salt
- pepper
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 white onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 tsp thyme
- 0,5 l cream
- zest and juice of a half lemon
- fresh parsley
- cooked rice for serving
Instructions
- Slice onions into 2-3 mm thick slices
- Fry them in 3-4 batches in a completely dry and very hot pan until they start browning
- Slice the chicken breasts, add salt and pepper to both sides
- Fry both sides over oil (medium heat) for 2-3 minutes, then take out
- Fry the chopped onions on the remaining oil with salt, pepper and the thyme
- Pour the cream over it, put the mushrooms back and boil for 4-5 minutes
- Put the chicken back, add the lemon juice and zest, and cook for another 2-3 minutes
- Finally put in the chopped parsley and server with rice
