here's what i listened to today:
=> Hellscape - Hellscape [deathrock]
=> David Garcet - Threesome [electro]
=> Black Band Shirt - Proud Filth [post-black metal]
=> Gosplan - Virtue Terror [new beat]
=> Soul Glo - Untitled [hardcore]
=> lol k - climbing/holding/falling [electronic]
=> Vitriolic - Black Steel Vengeance [blackened speed]
not big on these first three, and i actively disliked Black Band Shirt, largely because the vocals rubbed me the wrong way.
Gosplan's Virtue Terror fared a little better for me, it's decently catchy but i don't know that i would go out of my way to return to it.
Soul Glo's Untitled was pretty damn good, i was not into the parts that skewed more screamo is all. overall tho it's a well-crafted & smart punk album.
not sure how to feel about climbing/holding/falling, which seems fitting considering it goes all over the place. i liked Outside Chance but it's def one of the more conventionally structured tracks. maybe this just isn't my flavour of experimental.
technically Black Steel Vengeance is a Jan '25 release but i guess the doors opened early. it's a solid hi-octane swirling storm of riffs. i enjoyed it but i'm not certain much of it other than Envenom Katharsis & Scorn is the Son of Defeat will stick in my mind.
onwards & upwards!
