At long last, I'm back on BBS!

It's been about 5 weeks since I last interacted with BBS, because it's been about that long? I think? Since my previous computer met a gravity-assisted fate.

I did the math on whether or not it was worth it to procure replacement parts, some special tools, possibly, and then gamble even getting it right with the repair AND that there's not more stuff inside which my untrained (for verifying integrity of a board, anyway) eyes would miss.

So long story short, I got ahold of a used machine that in its day was pretty smexy. I paid about 10% of the cost for when it would have been new, and I'm okay with that. It handles well.
