Well, you sort of did the announcement right there. 🙂

Typically people post this kind of announcements on their gemlogs and publish them via one of the aggregators. Using other communication channels like the fediverse is also an option. Unfortunately, there is no way to reach all Gemini users who might visit your capsule, though.

More generally speaking, this is one problem with the Gemini TOFU security model: a user has no way of knowing whether they can trust a changed certificate. People have discussed technical solutions in the past, but I don't think anyone has built anything concrete yet.

How to announce a certificate has been changed/updated? — Hi guys, if I called my capsule "pebcak" is for a reason! Last week while updating the documentation I erased the prod vps instead of the test one. I also deleted the certificate and I had to create newer ones. Lagrange is asking to check if "I" announced new certificates, is there a method for this task? Thanks!
