The Edge of Seventeen (2016)

This turned out to be a surprisingly decent film that showcases how messy teenage years can be. It has a slow start and you might think that this movie isn't going anywhere but it was pretty decent.

Nadine is a somewhat "different" high school teenage girl who has a single friend, Krista, who ends up dating Nadine's brother, Darian. Nadine isn't really close with her brother due to typical teenage feelings that her mom likes Darian more than her. Krista dating Darian doesn't really play well with Nadine and she decides to stop talking to Krista in an emotional outburst.

Nadine's life doesn't really get any better from here and she struggles to find someone who can "talk" to her. I'm not sure about everyone else but the portrayal of Nadine's life kinda reminded me about myself. Yeah, I'm not too happy how those years turned out.

I don't really have a good reason to deduct any points from this movie except that it's not as great as other movies that I would rate perfectly.

I hereby rate this movie a 4 out of 5.
