A morning of monochrome birds, some black and white, some just black
The morning commute, cool and grey. Passing through Huntingdale parallel to the station car park there's a Magpie[1] standing on the roof of a car, feathers fluffed out to keep warm and head pulled down to avoid the harassment of a pair of squawking Mudlarks[2], shouting at it and shouting at their reflection in the windscreen of the car... I suspect the owner will come back to find feathers and poop all over the windscreen.
Further on and I turn off the bikepath and into the suburban streets, all the rubbish bins are out for collection and many of them are tipped over or over-full and overflowing. There are dozens of Ravens[3] up and down the street having a ball, pulling every scrap of edibles out of the bins and as a result, scattering the plastic and paper everywhere
