2021/1204/1600 — boyd park

An afternoon walk, west to Murrumbeena and up through Boyd park. Check in on the Tawny frogmouths[1] and with a little bit of searching found the pair of them in a tree near the scout hall. Lots of lorikeets in the park too

Then on the way home a single Grey butcherbird[2] looking very smart, must be breeding plumage or just very well fed. Often they seem to just look drab, but this one was very smart. Up the top of a tree in the nature strip in clear view, and with a clear view of potential food. A few loud calls and flew off to a denser tree across the street.
