2020/1112/1700 — Wetlands nest

Very brief notes for the 9th-12th, despite my bests efforts I fell behind and filled this in on ... Friday the 13th.

My daily ride delayed by half an hour due to a need to replace the worn out and punctured tyre on the bike, a fairly standard loop of a ride for me around the Scotchmans creek trail, up the Anniversary trail, down Ferndale track to the Glen Iris wetlands then a look around before coming home.

The fluffy moorhen[1] chicks are much bigger, not so cute and I discovered to my surprise that the noisy pair of Willy wagtails[2] that shout at people all day long have a nest with 3-4 nestlings only about 2m from one of the benches, just above the water
