2010-09-29 Otherworld Miniatures

Today I got the last package from Otherworld Miniatures fulfilling an order I had placed when Richard Scott had offered various vouchers for sale. I bought two vouchers for £200 each and bought miniatures worth £600... I have enough miniatures to paint for a life time! 😄

At the time the sale happened because Otherworld Miniatures is moving in to new premises. If you check their news section, you’ll find this:

To celebrate moving in to our new premises, Otherworld Miniatures is holding a sale. All products will be on sale at 20% discount until the end of September.

Emphasis mine.

They also sponsored both One Page Dungeon Contests to date, which is when their name started to stick. Then I saw the voucher sale posted on Grognardia and recognized it again. I also realized that it was the same company James had been posting about in 2008. ¹ ² ³ ⁴ ⁵ ⁶ ⁷ ⁸ ⁹ ¹⁰ ¹¹ ¹² ¹³ Wow! He sure posted a lot! And I guess it worked. Just look at what I bought...

I also bought about six elves from Reaper Miniatures for my wife because Otherworld Miniatures has no player character miniatures...

Wow fantastic score. It look like your second package should be a few gallons of paint.

Hehe, any idea where I could get gallons of free time instead? 😄

Jeez, you really went all in, didn’t you?

If you need some of them painted, I am available for commission work :P

Well, the original idea was this: Claudia and I go to sleep around two or three o’clock in the morning. One reason, I figured, was that we like to read. And reading keeps us awake. It’s captivating. I had hoped that painting miniatures late at night might be a relaxing, boring, calming experience. But it turns out that I have not yet gotten into the groove. I’m a bit baffled by my inability to make the necessary change in our daily routine.
